Clubhouse Dress Code
We ask that our Members and Guests dress in smart casual attire when attending the Club. Dress should be appropriate to the formality of the area of the Clubhouse. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are aware of the Dress Code Policy and that they follow the Dress Code when visiting the Club.
The Dress Code Policy has been established to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all Members and maintains the tradition of sophistication and style that respects Mississaugua Golf and Country Club’s long, prestigious history.
Club Events may have their own specific Dress Code requirements, which will be detailed in the event invitation or event promotional material.
The responsibility of enforcing the Dress Code lies solely with our Management Team. Should a Member or Guest not be dressed appropriately at the Club, Management will work with the Member to remedy the situation but reserves the right to take necessary action, which may include removal from the area, premises or discontinuance of service. Management also reserves the right to use their discretion regarding the Dress Code Policy, which may include exceptions in certain circumstances (ex. reasons relating to culture, sexual orientation, injury, disability or design of clothing). Enforcement of the below outlined Dress Code Policy will be upheld regardless of the designer pedigree or cost of the garment.
Under no circumstances should a Member approach another Member or Guest regarding their attire. If there is a concern about a Member or Guest’s attire, a complaint may be filed in writing to the Clubhouse Manager and the incident will be investigated followed by appropriate action.
ACCEPTABLE CLUBHOUSE ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Jackets / sports coats / blazers are preferred for Gentlemen in the evening in the Dining Room, Fireside Room and Main Lounge
- Smart denim pants and, for Ladies, jackets, skirts and dresses are accepted in all areas of the Clubhouse except in the Main Lounge, Main Dining Room or Fireside Room
- Any denim that is ripped, frayed, cut-off, distressed (including holes) or not worn around the waist will not be permitted, regardless of the value of the garment
- Shirts must be tucked in, except those with tailored bottoms, specifically designed to be worn untucked
- Small and discrete golf, tennis or curling related logos are permitted
- Gentlemen’s shirts must be collared; blade collars, turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks are acceptable
- ¼ Zip sweaters are permitted; collared shirt not necessary if zipped up
- Outerwear including sports-specific hooded garments are permitted on the Patio only
- Ladies' non-athletic fashion hats may be worn
- Men's Ladies’ dress sandals are acceptable footwear
- Sockettes must be worn when wearing shorts
- Strapless, halter and spaghetti strap tops / dresses are acceptable provided that the style of dress must be consistent with dining
UNACCEPTABLE CLUBHOUSE ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- T-shirts and Athletic style tank tops
- Bare mid-riffs
- Cargo pants or cargo shorts
- Denim shirts and tops
- Any denim that is ripped, frayed, cut-off, distressed (including holes) or not worn around the waist will not be permitted, regardless of the value of the garment
- Athletic workout wear
- Hoodies or jackets (except on Patio); sweatershirts are not permitted
- Any type of beach wear
- Flip-flops of any kind
- Golf hats or visors (except on the Patios and for Ladies, except to/from Locker Rooms to areas of play)
- Athletic style or sports branded halter tops
- Crew neck / V neck sweaters without a collared shirt
Some Dress Code tolerance will be given to children under the age of 12; however, Juniors and Pre-Juniors are expected to follow the same Dress Code Policy of the Club for Gentlemen and Ladies while golfing, playing tennis or curling.
Golf Dress Code
Attire should be appropriate for golf, tailored and in good taste and applies to all golfers of all ages. Metal spikes are not permitted. Golf hats must be worn with the bill forward facing.
Gentlemen Golfers
- Golf shirts must have collars
- Mock necks / blade collar shirts are acceptable
- Shirts must be tucked in
- Tailored golf shorts or pants
- Sockettes must be worn with all golf shoes when wearing shorts
- Hats must be removed before entering the Clubhouse
- Outerwear including sport-specific hooded garments
Lady Golfers
- Tailored golf shorts, pants, skirts/skorts are acceptable
- Golf shirts must have a collar and/or sleeves
- No tank tops or bare midriffs
- Outerwear including sport-specific hooded garments
UNACCEPTABLE GOLF ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Denim, sweat pants
- Cargo pants or cargo shorts
- Corporate logos on any attire, bags or umbrellas (except those golf-related)
- Sweatshirts
Curling Dress Code
Attire should be appropriate for curling, tailored and in good taste
ACCEPTABLE CURLING ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Curling shoes
- Pants, leggings/tights i.e. Lululemon
- Sweaters, jackets, coats
- Hats, gloves, scarves
UNACCEPTABLE CURLING ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Denim, sweat pants
- Cargo pants
- Corporate logos on any attire, bags or umbrellas (except those sports-related)
Tennis Dress Code
Attire should be appropriate for tennis, tailored and in good taste
ACCEPTABLE TENNIS ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Sport-specific tennis T-shirts without a collar are permitted
- Tennis shoes are required, the sole must be flat and without large treads
- Proper tennis socks or sockettes
- Articles of clothing may have tennis club or equipment related emblems or logos
- Leggings i.e. Lululemon
- Outerwear including sport-specific hooded garments
UNACCEPTABLE TENNIS ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Denim, sweat pants
- Cargo pants or cargo shorts
- Corporate logos on any attire, bags or umbrellas (except those sports-related)
- Articles of clothing with commercial designations are not allowed
- Sweatshirts
Fitness Dress Code
Clean (indoor) athletic shoes and proper fitness attire are to be worn in the Fitness Centre at all times. Members in fitness attire will enter the Clubhouse through the Administration/Curling/Fitness Entrance and must proceed directly between the Fitness Centre and locker rooms.
ACCEPTABLE FITNESS ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- T-shirts, athletic tank tops and jackets
- Shorts/skorts and sweat suits
- Athletic shoes
- Caps with the bill forward facing
UNACCEPTABLE FITNESS ATTIRE INCLUDES:
- Flip flops, sandals
- Muscle shirts / cut off shirts or shorts
- Bare mid-riff
- Short shorts
- Outdoor shoes
- Corporate logos on any attire or bags (except those sports-related)
Smartphones and Tablets Policy
At all times Members and their guests are asked to respect the rights and enjoyment of others when using their devices.
Smartphones and Tablets must always be kept on silent mode or vibrate. Use of these devices for texting, e-mailing or browsing is permitted but must not hold up play or interfere with the overall experience of other Members or guests.
Smartphone as a telephone is strictly prohibited on the property except: parking lot, Halfway House, next to public access landline phones, Gentlemen's and Ladies' Locker Rooms.
Laptops may only be used in the Riverstone Pub, Main Patio, and Main Lounge before 5:00 pm. After 5:00 pm, laptops will not be allowed, and during this time, Members and their guests are asked to use these devices in designated areas of the Locker Rooms or Billiard Room (when available).
Social Media Policy
Be respectful when using Social Media and referencing the Club. Any Social Media posts that make negative comments towards the Club, Staff, or other Members will not be tolerated. We value our reputation, and we hold Members accountable for their conduct and the conduct of their Guests.
