"Mississaugua Golf and Country Club
has a hundred good reasons to tell its incredible story"...
The Clubhouse
By 1911, the Club was evaluating sites for a new clubhouse, ultimately deciding on a site, which unfortunately was the first green, forcing a course alteration. The estimated cost was $10,000. Twenty years later, D.A. Hamilton, President, reminisced about raising the $35,000 to build the clubhouse in 1912-13 that is still in use. In still later notes, it is recorded that, by his daily supervision over the job, Hamilton had saved the Club $10,000. The architect's estimate had been $40,000 and the actual cost was stated to be $30,000.
The Terrace Room
The Club's information all-day restaurant offers varied menus for lunch and dinner in a relaxed warm atmosphere. It was created by an extensive cantilevered modification of the clubhouse and was officially dedicated in July 1979. This room provides an amazing vista of the golf course and the valley below, and with the view over the patio and 18th green it is a beautiful room to stop and enjoy your day.
The Main Lounge
The dark wood panelling, tasteful decorations and wood burning fireplace make this an ideal place for quiet pre-dinner drinks in a social and inviting atmosphere. Various interesting and impressive trophies in wallcases grace the main lounge and together with the massive mural surrounding the fireplace (painted by Captain J.W. Beatty, a Canadian First World War artist and Club member) reflect the heritage of the Club and an interesting piece of local history.
