In1959, a six sheet curling rink was added to provide year-round enjoyment for its members.

Construction started in May 1958. Masons strike held up completion of the proposed cement pad. People were anxious to finish and start the curling season so a decision was made to pack crushed ice between the pipes and flood the surface. It worked. Curling started November 25, 1958.  However, this process was expensive and trucks driving across the 1st fairway with the ice damaged the course. For the next season the cement pad was finished as originally planned.
